The Pilates method developed by Joseph Pilates in 1920 consists of exercises that can be done on the Pilates mat as well as on the Pilates equipment, such as a reformer or the chair.


Pilates focuses on strengthening the core and improving posture. This reduces the risk of injuries and ensures that you move more optimally with both daily activities and sports-related movements.


Because the exercises are performed in a controlled manner and body awareness is increased, Pilates is also an ideal form of training for, for example, recovering from an injury or for training during and after pregnancy.
